Questions & answers

Is password-protecting a PDF free?

Yes. You get 3 free uses a day with no signup or account. If you need more, a $3 day pass or $9/month plan lifts the limit.

Does Stamped remember my password?

No. Your password is used once to lock the file and is never stored. If you forget it, there's no way for us to recover it or unlock the PDF for you — write it down somewhere safe.

What kind of protection does this add?

The PDF is encrypted so it can't be opened at all without the password you set — standard PDF encryption supported by Adobe Acrobat and every major PDF reader.

Will the protected PDF have a watermark?

No. Stamped never adds a watermark, stamp, or badge to your files — you get back the same PDF, just locked with your password.

Are my files kept private?

Your file is sent securely for processing and isn't stored afterward. It isn't shared, indexed, or used for anything else.

Does it work on Mac, Windows, and phones?

Yes. Stamped runs entirely in your browser, so there's nothing to install — it works the same on any computer or phone. Files can be up to 25MB.
